THE RELATIVES OF THE CHILDREN OF BULLENHUSER DAMM
Mania’s mother Pola never discovered what had happened to her daughter. In 1982, Mania’s uncle Chaim wrote a letter to Günther Schwarberg. Like Mania’s mother, he went to the USA after the war. He wrote: “Until her death in 1971, Pola had hoped that Mania was still alive and kept on asking herself why the Germans had taken her child and not her.” In 1986 Chaim Altman reported about his niece at the international tribunal at Bullenhuser Damm.
